Skill Builder Block 1: Let's Learn to Strip Piece

Updated: Apr 14, 2024

Welcome! I am so excited to have you joining me on this Skill Building Journey. Four by Two is our first block and we are going to learn how to strip piece this block for speed and efficiency.

Once you have cut all your strips to the size in the cut list, you are going to lay them out in the order you would like.

Then you will sew each WOF strip to the next one down the entire 44" length. Be very careful you are using an exact 1/4" seam and even using a scant 1/4" is good too. This is crucial to ensuring your final block comes out at 12-1/2" x 12-1/2"

Once you have your strip set sewn together and pressed, you are going to sub cut your strip set into the appropriate size blocks. You will have a bit of your strip set left over.

Now you can lay out your blocks and sew them together following the directions in the pattern.

Thanks so much for following along. I look forward to seeing all of your creations.
