The remaining bolts in the Under the Sea collection arrived on Friday afternoon. They are available in the studio and online. Come on by to check them out!

BOLT OF THE WEEK started last week! It was so much fun. Remember, first customer in the door on Monday gets to choose the bolt of the week. The chosen bolt is 20% off for the remainder of the week both in studio and online. The bolt will not be featured in the newsletter since it's not chosen until Monday. Join us for Community Sew Day, a special gathering to create baby quilts for donation to SF General. It’s a day dedicated to giving back through stitching, as we work on quilts in all stages—from piecing to binding. Bring your sewing machine (or borrow one of if needed), a neutral thread, your lunch, and most importantly, a positive attitude! It’s a wonderful chance to meet new friends, share skills, and enjoy a fulfilling day of sewing together. Community Sew Day will be now be offered on the 3rd Thursday of each month, with occasional Saturday dates (stay tuned!). Sign-up is free, but space is limited to 6 seats. Thank you in advance for generously sharing your time and talent to bring joy and comfort to new families.

I am excited to announce new kids’ sewing classes at the studio! Designed for small groups of 1 to 4 students, ages 9 and up, these lessons provide hands-on learning in a supportive and creative environment. Whether your child is homeschooled or simply eager to learn how to use a sewing machine, these classes are a great way to build lifelong skills. You can book more than one hour for longer lessons, or schedule weekly sessions to help your student continue growing their confidence and abilities. Please check the studio calendar for available times and reserve your spot!

I'm also thrilled to introduce Kelly, our kids’ sewing instructor. Kelly is a San Francisco-based home sewist who comes from generations of crafty women. She has taught kids for over 30 years, both in the classroom and during her own decade of homeschooling—an adventure she navigated with plenty of humor. Kelly loves working with kids of all ages (truly!) and is dedicated to helping students gain not only sewing skills but also confidence in themselves along the way.
