Making Fabric Bowls with Friends
Using the goodness Bowl pattern by Jean Paccagna, spend an afternoon learning to sew these fun, addictive, and lovely bowls. The technique is similar to English Paper Piecing, and it makes for a very portable project. These bowls are so much fun to personalize and make as gifts. Betcha can’t make just one

Original Goodness Bowl Pattern by Jean Paccagnan, which includes master templates to make bowls in seven different sizes and Jean’s clear, well written instructions, with lots of pictures.
Pellon 71F stabilizer to make one bowl
Selection of fabrics from my stash
Selection of Threads
Needle
Pattern for one bowl printed on cardstock
Use of transparent templates for fussy-cutting

Fine line fabric pen. I use Micron or Frixion 0
Fabric scissors and snips
Fabric glue stick and refills
6 binding clips
 
Note on fabric:
Get creative! There is no need to limit yourself to quilting cotton. Silks, vintage linens, corduroy...bold prints, animal print, stripes and plaids…as long as the fabric Is somewhat pliable to fold over an edge of stabilizer and sew down you can use it. Mix and Match! Consider fussy cutting for prints, plaids, and stripes.

Judy Epstein-Williams, a SF resident has been quilting for over 35 years. 
Her innovative style has been displayed and awarded in both local and national quilt shows, as well as appearing in quilting and design publications. 
Her work was displayed in a solo show at the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design in 2022. In recent years she has become devoted to the art of handwork.
She is active in the San Francisco Quilters’ Guild, East Bay Heritage Quilters and the Dorcas Hand Quilters.
